Should have gone to Specsavers? They came to us!

Homelessness can be caused by and lead to ill health. Over 75% of people who are homeless have a physical health condition, more than twice as many compared with those of us who have a safe and secure home.

One in three people experiencing homelessness have sight issues. And once people are homeless, they face enormous barriers to accessing the healthcare they need.

We are delighted to share that Specsavers in High Wycombe is offering FREE complete eye tests and glasses to our clients.

Kate Rogers, our Chair of Trustees, met with the staff to share the impact that their support will have for people who struggle without the eye care that they need!

There are a number of other incredible local health services with whom we already have close relationships who work with us to provide essential care to people who are street homeless and in desperate need of help.

Tower House Surgery, Crendon Dental, Redgate Opticians and local hospitals to name a few.

Their care, time and expertise helps to transform people’s health and helps them to feel significant and cared for. We help people get appointments with a GP, have dental surgery, and safe discharge from hospital. We were even able to help a woman with hearing loss to get her hearing aids replaced as hers were damaged while she was homeless.

Your support enables us to help the people we serve to get the healthcare they need.
