We’re delighted that our partnership has been awarded almost £555,000 over three years through the UK Government’s Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund.
This is funding for a specific three-year homelessness prevention project alongside the work our organisations already do, and it does not replace funding we need to fully provide our services.
This new project has been developed in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council to reach people who have historically been less well served by existing homelessness services. We’ll be focusing particularly on people facing several challenges at once who have historically been less well served by existing homelessness services. The funding will allow us to reach those people earlier, before they reach a homelessness crisis, and make it easier for them to access the expert, independent help available. Our three charities will provide personal, expert, trauma-informed and person-centred support in ways that work for them, giving people the practical help they need to find and keep a safe home.
Our communities have been central to getting us here.
The strength of the support we receive from volunteers, donors and local supporters was an important part of our application and will be vital to delivering this project. Through volunteering and financial support, the government funding can go further and help us achieve more for the people we serve.
The project brings together our innovative homelessness prevention services, financial inclusion, legal advice, outreach and help to access private rented housing. We’ll help people tackle problems before they become a crisis, support people into a home when they do become homeless, and stay alongside them to help prevent them becoming homeless again.
Once fully established, the project expects to support around 500 people a year, helping people avoid homelessness, move into secure accommodation and keep their homes as well as save the local economy millions in cost associated with homelessness and temporary accommodation,
We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity, the partnership of Buckinghamshire Council, and to everyone who supports our organisations. Working together, we can help more people find and keep a safe home, and build the secure future they want for themselves.
