Mayor Councillor Zia Ahmed runs for Wycombe Homeless Connection

The Mayor of High Wycombe took the last leg on Saturday 18th June 2016 at the 24-hour relay organised by Handy Cross Runners, accompanied by his deputy, Councillor Maz Hussain. WHC is one of the charities the Mayor will support this year. Also in the WHC team were Callum Curry, who recently ran a marathon for WHC, several WHC volunteers and great many noble folks from the Wycombe Rye parkrun.

Ben Lockhart in particular stepped in at the last minute as a replacement - and was rewarded by running in a 30-minute deluge!

13 teams and 3 solo athletes completed 24 hours on the track, for a total of some 9200 laps or 2300 miles. The event will support Wycombe Homeless Connection, Arctic1 and the Pepper Foundation.
