Our Cook and Assistant Cook teams keep guests and volunteers fed with delicious, safely prepared meals - and the Cook Coordinator is there to support them every step of the way. If you’ve volunteered as a Cook before, this role is perfect for sharing your experience and helping the team thrive.
What you’ll do
- Be a point of contact for new and returning cooks, answering questions and offering guidance.
- Run the cooks’ WhatsApp group and send regular updates by email.
- Support cooks to share ideas, recipes, menu plans, and information about venue kitchens.
- Review and simplify the Cook Handbook and logbook for easier use.
- Help plan and deliver orientation sessions and cook catch-ups in the autumn before shelter opens.
Time commitment
- Up to a few hours a week during shelter.
- Flexible hours in the autumn before shelter opens.
