WHC Parkrun Takeover
Wycombe Homeless Connection is taking over Wycombe Rye Parkrun on Saturday 16 May!
Our volunteers will be filling all the volunteer roles for the morning, helping us spread the word about the work we do to the 400–550 people who walk or run at the Rye every Saturday. We’ll also have the WHC gazebo, so people can stop by, have a chat, and find out more about us.
It’s a brilliant, feel-good way to support WHC — visible, friendly, and all wrapped up by mid-morning.
When: Saturday 16 May 2026
Time: 8.15am – 10.15am
Where: Wycombe Rye Parkrun @ The Rye, High Wycombe
Who: WHC volunteers running the show
Important: You’ll need a Parkrun ID (free and quick to register if you don’t already have one): https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register
No experience is needed — full guidance is given on the morning, and there will be experienced Parkrun team members on hand to support throughout.
What roles can you do?
Roles include marshalling (lots of cheering and clapping), barcode scanning, walking with everyone else or at the back to make sure participants get round safely, helping on the WHC gazebo, or being the event photographer.
- You don’t need to run.
- You don’t need special skills.
- Just bring yourself and a friendly smile.
It’s a lovely way to spend a Saturday morning, be part of a team, and still have most of the day ahead of you.
We need at least 25 volunteers to fill the positions. Let’s make sure everyone at the Rye knows about Wycombe Homeless Connection!
If you’re a runner and would like to be a Pacer, or if you want to represent WHC by running or walking that morning, we’d love to have you. Email us on communications@wyhoc.org.uk
