Event Volunteer
Community Event Volunteer
Community Event Volunteers are the friendly faces people meet when they see us at community events ranging from fetes, festivals and fayres, to info sessions at local libraries, wellbeing days at schools and more.
You help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere while sharing what we do and encouraging people to get involved in endging homelessness in our community.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll chat with members of the public about how they can help end homelessness in the community, run interactive games, hand out information, and support fundraising through gathering donations. At bigger events you’ll be part of a team, helping our stands feel engaging, approachable, and full of energy. At other events it might be you and a couple of other people.
What we’re looking for
- You don’t need any prior experience, just a willingness to get involved and talk to people.
- Friendly and approachable - happy to start conversations
- Enthusiastic about what we do and keen to share it with others
- Reliable and happy to work as part of a team
- The ability to travel to the events
- A level of fitness and mobility for putting up stands, including the gazebo at bigger events and moving event kit when helping with setup and clear down. If this isn’t you – don’t let it stop you, you’ll be part of a team.
Time commitment
Flexible and event-based, sign up for the events that suit you.
Why it matters
You’re often the first impression people have of us. The conversations you have help raise awareness, build trust, bring in support, and connect more people with the work we do.
