In the list below you can see the roles we typically recruit for.
- Advice and support: answering our hotline and helping people who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness get support from our frontline team.
- Administration: various roles in our office or working from home; answering the general enquiries line and email; entering data; organising our mail and general administration tasks.
- Hosting: working in a team to welcome and provide people with a meal, a shower and a chance to wash clothes, and other tasks at our drop-in sessions.
- Accompanying clients to appointments: accompanying someone to an appointment (e.g. hospital or court) including driving them or going on public transport.
- Food parcel delivery: collecting food parcels from the local foodbank and delivering them to our clients.
- Cooking: Preparing and serving a nutritious meal for people at our drop-in sessions.
- Fundraising and event support: running our own fundraising events and helping people in our community run fundraising events; representing the charity at events and other similar activities.
- Sorting and carefully storing donations of food and clothing to make sure they are useful and accessible.
- Speakers: Join our speaker panel to tell people how we can help people facing homelessness with our community with a view to generating support for our work. These can be at schools, businesses, community groups, churches and faith groups and more.

So that we can operate effectively and safely, all our volunteers are formally inducted to our work and in most cases will get further training specific to the role.
