The 'Everyone In’ government-led initiative that paid for emergency accommodation for most people who would otherwise have been sleeping rough during the COVID-19 pandemic has ended putting scores of people at risk of returning to the street in the coldest months of the year.
At Wycombe Homeless Connection we are asking for help to make sure that emergency accommodation and support and help is provided during the coldest, most dangerous months of the year.
We need to raise over £100,000 to look after people across the south of Buckinghamshire who will need a safe place to stay this winter.
While we are working with Buckinghamshire Council and our partners to make sure as few people return to the streets as possible, we still do not think it is safe or best for our guests to run our usual dormitory-style shelter as we have before.
So, we are working to provide a range of suitable emergency accommodation and will be running a special, easily-accessible range of healthcare clinics, wellbeing activities and in-depth homelessness support services as part of this winter provision.
May we humbly ask that you please consider us in your giving; this winter is going to be a very tough one for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
